Troubleshooting // FAQs

Can I use the Hub functionality on batteries alone?

Unfortunately not, the View as Hub feature must be plugged in at all times, the power consumption would be too high on batteries and have them drain quickly.

The Hub icon is not showing in the app under the View monitor, what can I do?

If the Hub icon is not showing in the app or on the monitor.

  • View is connected by the USB-C cable (make sure that there is also nothing wrong with the cable such as a tear).

  • Try closing out the app and reopening the app (It can take up to 15 minutes for this feature to be enabled)

Why is it taking so long for my Wave monitor to show as connected?

The Smartlink connection can take up to 90 minutes to establish a connection.

It is recommended to check back in 15 minutes to see if the connection has been established.

How frequently will my other Airthings monitors sync?

  • Depending on the product the sensors will update at different intervals:

    • Wave Plus:

      • Radon once an hour as part of the rolling 24-hour average

      • Temperature, Humidity, VOC, CO2, Air Pressure will all be updated every 5 minutes to the cloud

    • Wave Radon:

      • Radon continues to be measured once an hour as part of the rolling 24-hour average

How many Airthings devices can I connect to my View using the Hub feature?

You can connect up to 10 Bluetooth Airthings monitors such as Wave Mini, Wave Plus, and more.

Can I connect my View to another View as a Hub?

No, this is not possible as View monitors are connected via Wifi and already online.

Can I connect my View to an Airthings Hub?

No, a View monitor cannot link to an Airthings Hub, it uses the built-in Wifi connectivity to stay connected.

What happens if I unplug my View?

If you have no other monitors connected to your View nothing will change with the exception of the sampling intervals and you will not see the Hub icon anymore.

Those who have other products connected to the View as Hub, they will search for the View as a Hub and try to reconnect.

You must plug in your View again to keep the connection with your View, otherwise, this can cause the batteries to deplete on your other Wave products quickly while they retry to establish a connection.
