Renew: Cleaning Renew and the pre-filters

Keeping Renew clean helps it look good and ensures the best performance.

Before disassembling any part of any appliance, it’s a good idea to unplug it.

The outer case

Wipe the outside of the unit with a clean, dry cloth to remove any accumulated dust and dirt. Never use cleaning liquids to clean Renew - if you must, only use a lightly damp cloth.

Water or moisture should never enter the unit.

If moisture accidentally enters the unit, remove the filters and allow the unit to stand open until completely dry inside.

The front cover (outer prefilter)

The front cover (also a prefilter) is designed to capture the largest particles of pollen, dust, pet hair, etc. After a time, these will accumulate and need to be removed.

We recommend using a vacuum at a very low and gentle speed. Alternatively, you can use a lint roller or simply take it outdoors to pat it gently.

Be careful not to push hard on the textile or you risk damaging it.

The inner mesh prefilter

The mesh prefilter can be cleaned with water. If you have a handheld shower attachment, that’s the easiest way to do this.

Use a gentle stream of water or submerge the filter and gently move it back and forth. You must let the mesh prefilter dry completely before putting it back in the unit.

Moisture increases the risk of mold growing inside the unit and no one wants that!
