How do I unzip and install the CRA software file?

Applies to Windows 7,Windows 8.1 and Windows 10

Please note that the instructions are the same for installing the software for the first time or updating the software to the most current version.

To extract the zipped file, do the following:

  • Go to the location where the file was downloaded. This is often in the downloads folder.

  • Drag the CRA-CW zipped folder to the new location (or cut and paste it).

  • Right-click, EXTRACT ALL, and then follow the installation instructions.

Installing/updating the software:

  • Once the file has been unzipped, click on CRA-USB-4.5 (name may vary by version), then click on the CRA-SW folder, and finally the setup (application file).

  • A popup will open entitled Destination Directory. Click next, next, next (3 times).

  • You will then have this message: ''The installer has finished updating your system'', click next.

  • A popup box will appear, FTDI CDM Drivers, click Extract.

  • a popup box will appear, Welcome to the Device Driver Installation Wizard! Click next. Then ''I accept this agreement'', click finish.

Another Method:

  • Go to the location where the file was downloaded. This is often in the downloads folder.

  • Double-click the CRA-SW zipped folder.

  • Double click the CRA-SW file

  • Locate the setup application file. (There are two. Find the largest file, around 1381kb).

  • Select the setup file mentioned above, right-click and click Cut.

  • Navigate to the location you want to unzip the files to.

  • Right-click and select Paste.

  • Find the setup icon in your selected location, double click on it to commence the software download.

Installing/updating the software:

  • Once the file has been unzipped, click on CRA-USB-4.5 (name may vary by version), then click on the CRA-SW folder, and finally the setup (application file).
