Using the CRA Software for Diagnostics and Reporting
The CRA software is a Windows-based application that allows you to manage your measurements, generate reports, and send diagnostic files from your Airthings Pro instrument. While it’s now primarily used for tech support and diagnostics, it also serves as an alternate solution to the Airthings app and web dashboard for accessing and exporting your data.
What the CRA Software Does
Diagnostics: If you experience an issue with your Pro device, the CRA software enables you to export a data file that our support team can use for troubleshooting.
Report Generation: CRA can still be used to create and manage professional reports directly from your computer.
Memory Dump for CRA450: The CRA software allows you to generate a memory dump file (.bin) for the CRA450 monitor, which can be sent to Airthings support for detailed diagnostics. This requires CRA software version 4.5.0 or later and a Windows PC.
How to Install the CRA Software
Download and run the installer Locate the
.exefile and double-click it to begin the installation. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.Connect your Pro instrument using the provided USB adapter After installation is complete, connect your Airthings Pro to your computer using the included USB adapter. Important: Be sure to connect the device after the software is installed and before running it for the first time.
Open the CRA Software Launch the CRA application. You’ll now be able to access your measurement data, create reports, or generate a diagnostic file to share with our support team.
Load the CRA450 Monitor In the CRA software, select the option labeled “LOAD MONITOR: SN: [SERIAL_NUMBER]” to load your CRA450 monitor.
Navigate to the HW SETUP Tab Once the monitor is loaded, go to the "HW SETUP" tab in the software.
Generate a Memory Dump Follow the instructions in the software to perform a memory dump and save the resulting .bin file to your computer.
Sending the Memory Dump File
Attach the saved .bin file to your correspondence with Airthings support.
Ensure the file is included in your email or support ticket for analysis.
Important Notes
The CRA desktop software is only available for Windows. If you do not have access to a Windows PC, you will need to arrange access to one to complete this process.
Follow the steps carefully to ensure the memory dump is generated correctly.
