Radon sensor Error message: What it means and how to fix it

How to resolve temporary radon sensor error messages caused by high humidity or temperature changes.

Updated today

Why is my device showing an error?

Your radon sensor is sensitive to high humidity and sudden temperature changes. In most cases, this error is temporary and it simply means the sensor is uncertain about its current readings and needs time to recalibrate. This is not a sign of permanent damage.

How to fix it

Follow these steps to dry out and reset your device:

  1. Remove the 3 batteries from the device.

  2. Move the device to a drier room (such as a living room) and leave it there for at least 24 hours, a few days is ideal.

  3. Reinsert fresh alkaline batteries. The device will restart and resume normal operation.

The error message should clear once the sensor has had time to stabilize in a drier environment.
