Initial sensor calibration

Learn about which sensors need time to calibrate

Updated this week

Some sensors used in Airthings monitors produce reliable readings out-of-the-box while others may need some time to calibrate. Your Airthings app will display tips letting you know how many days remain until the sensors reach calibration but here's some general information:

Sensors that are calibrated out-of-the-box:

  • Air pressure

  • Temperature

  • Humidity

  • PM2.5 (particulate matter)

Sensors that may require initial calibration:

  • Radon

  • Carbon dioxide (CO2)

  • VOCs (volatile organic compounds)
