Wave Radon: how to update the firmware

Firmware updates

Updated today

You will get notified in your app if a new firmware is available.

If an update is available it will take around 5-7 minutes to install, to ensure a smooth installation make sure you do the following:

  • Make sure the device doesn't have low battery

  • Stay close to your Wave Radon during the update process

  • Keep the Airthings App open during the firmware upgrage

  • Make sure you have a stable data/internet connection to download the update

Note:
Immediately following the firmware update, your Wave Radon will reboot and it will take a few days for your radon sensor to adjust after the update.

During this recalibration period, the radon sensor collects new data to re-establish its baseline.

Temporary zero or unusually low radon readings may occur, and a small data gap might appear in the readings. This process is necessary for the sensor to stabilize and resume accurate measurements. Typically, stabilization takes several hours to a few days, and no user action is required during this time.

If the radon readings remain at zero beyond the expected stabilization period, ensure the device is stationary and placed in the same location for accurate readings.

Allow the device to measure radon levels for at least 30 days to ensure reliable long-term averages. If the issue persists, contact Airthings support for further assistance.
