How to customize thresholds

Custom thresholds

Updated this week

Custom thresholds in the Airthings app

Custom thresholds enables you to set your own sensor thresholds for what is considered Good, Fair, and Poor, according to your needs and personal comfort levels.

What custom thresholds affect

When you update thresholds, you will see your changes reflected in:

  • Your device's status and color indicators

  • Charts and graphs

  • Notifications

Before you start

Make sure you are using the latest version of the Airthings app. The custom thresholds feature is available from app version 7.2.6 onwards.

Note: Custom thresholds is only supported by View devices, Wave Plus, Wave Radon, Wave Enhance, Wave Mini, and Corentium Home 2.

How to change your thresholds

  • Open the Airthings app.

  • Open Settings.

  • Open Thresholds.

  • Select the sensor you want to change (for example, Radon, CO2, Humidity).

  • Enter your preferred threshold values.

  • Tap Save.

Reset to default

If you want to go back to recommended Airthings defaults, tap Reset to default.

For radon, defaults may be based on your country or region guidelines.

When changes may take time to appear

The app should reflect your updated thresholds immediately, but changes to your physical monitor's colour response can take some time to update depending on its connectivity type. An indication of time is provided when changing the thresholds of your device.

Troubleshooting

If something does not look right after saving:

Check where the issue happens

Only in the app (graphs, labels, settings screen)

Only on the device (screen or indicator behavior)

Both (the app and device disagree)

If values save, but the colors/graphs look wrong

Wait for the next sync.
