Why is the old app being retired?
We released the first Airthings Wave app back in 2016 along with our very first smart monitor. But in order to deliver the richer experiences we wanted to, it became necessary to build a whole new app from the ground up.
The old app is now being phased out so we can focus on the future-proof and feature-rich experience the new Airthings app enables. In line with this, our latest smart products are only compatible with the new Airthings app. These include Renew air purifier, Wave Enhance and Corentium Home 2.
When will the old app be officially retired?
The official retirement date is October 1, 2025. After this date, the old app will no longer be able to access data.
What happens if I don’t switch to the new app before the retirement date?
Nothing, really. Your monitors will continue to collect your air quality information. When you get the new app you only need to log into your account and your data history will all be there. You will need to sync with any Bluetooth monitors that have not synced new data in a while.
Will the old app stop working immediately after the retirement date?
Yes.

Is the new app available on all platforms?

Making the switch
How do I switch to the new app?
Simply download the Airthings app from your app store. Then log in with your existing credentials, and you’re good to go. All of your homes, devices and data history will be there. Make sure you use the correct email address to log in!
Do I need to uninstall the old app before installing the new one?
No, there is nothing preventing you from having both apps installed concurrently. However, we recommend uninstalling the old app once you've successfully logged into the Airthings app.
Can I use both the old and new apps at the same time during the transition?
Yes, you can access both apps during the transition period, but we encourage you to explore the new Airthings app and become familiar with its design and new features.
Troubleshooting and support
Why am I getting an “Invalid user” error when I try to log in to the Airthings app?
It’s possible that you are using the wrong email address. Confirm the correct email by opening the old app and looking at your Account details.
Will customer support still be available for the old app?
Support will be available only until October 1, 2025 when the app is retired.
